How to be AX

Attending events and talking to Alpha Chis are good ways for us to get to know you, and you us!

  • Attend as many rush events as possible: Information Night, House Tours, Casino. 
  • Talk to Alpha Chi Members

Becoming a Member of Alpha Chi means new friends and friendships for life, having fun, gaining self-confidence, communication and leadership skills, and being a part of the oldest sorority in Chico.

Recruitment Attire

All Recruits are encouraged to wear casual attire.
​Don't worry, it's not dress to impress, but dress to express... yourselves, that is! 

Time for Formal Rush ​

  • Sorority chapters seek to enrich the lives of their members through positive programs. Since these programs emphasize the academic, social, cultural, spiritual, and service phase of the college experience, the earlier the student has an opportunity to participate in such programs, the better!
  • Early fall pledging allows the sorority chapter to assist the new student to make friends quickly, adjust to college life, and become oriented on campus.
  • Early fall rush helps eliminate the problem of predetermined opinions about other chapters on campus. Opinions are often based on rumor.
  • Have the opportunity to experience the security of belonging, plus the support, encouragement, and guidance offered by the chapter members and alumni.
  • The student that pledges early in the fall more readily settle down to serious academic work. Through participation in the chapter's scholarship program, early fall pledges have the opportunity to learn and develop good study habits from belonging.
  • Early fall pledging provides both pledges and chapter members a longer period to work together for mutual benefit and to better prepare pledges to assume responsibility and leadership.
  • Conclusion: The experience that early fall formal rush provides has more advantages than any other plan.
