Community Involvement

Alphies in the Community

Alpha Chi's loves getting involved within the Chico community. Over the years we have participated in many different community service events. Participating in community service helps our member build skills in communication, cooperation and ability to work with others. We believe that by giving back to the community we will leave a positive mark on Chico. Not only does this impact Chico but also our members and carries with them throughout their life.

Butte Humane Society

Each Semester Alpha Chi Girls donate their time to help out the Butte Humane Society. They help organize the bi-annual change drive that helps support animals at the shelter.  The Active Chapter decided they loved helping so much that they made a proposal to the Alumni Association to switch our Philanthropy to the Butte Humane Society.

Blood Source Blood Drive

Each Semester Alpha Chi Girls help, along with another Greek Organization or Chico State Club, by passing out refreshments and monitoring people who've just donated blood.

Cesar Chavez Day

Ever year on March 31st, our girls get hands on in the community. Having the ability to volunteer all over campus, and in Bidwell Park, our sisters have helped clean up the community on this day off from Chico State.

Aruna 5K

Every Spring we participate in the Aruna 5K, by walking proud with our letters we show our support for enslaved women all over the world. We Free, Empower, & Employ the Enslaved.

Dia De Los Muertos

Alpha Chi Girls participate in Dia De Los Muertos, which is organized by MECHA and NAK.  We spend this day recognizing and celebrating loved ones, who have now passed on. This give us the opportunity to learn about different cultures, eat some great food, and hang out for the day.

Habitat for Humanity

Our girls have had the opportunity to help assist team members from the Habitat for Humanity in building a house for a family in need. This rewarding experience teaches girls how to work in a team, use power-tools safely, and do community service.

The Heart Walk

For Many years Alpha Chi would go down to Sacramento to show our support to the American Heart Association Walk.  The girls would volunteer at the event, passing out waters, working booths and tearing down the event. This event that happens every Fall holds a special place in our heart as it was our Philanthropy for many years.

NAK Land

Every Spring, Nu Alpha Kappa organizes a children's carnival at the Boys and Girls Club. We bring our organizations together, painting faces, passing out food, popcorn,  and participating in activities with other Multi-cultural Sororities, Fraternities.

Up 'til Dawn

Up 'til Dawn is a letter writing campaign that raises money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Last fall, Chico State raised the most money in the nation, and AX was one of the top groups that sent out the most letters for Chico State.
